Default Fuel Injectors size??

Hi guys, well, I'm going N/A in my prelude, and now I want to upgrade my fuel Injectors. The stock injector size are 280cc saturated. My friend told me to go with 310cc. But I think thats just too little on increase. Should I go 370cc? Please help out.
PS - I road race so I don't know if there's a difference in a drag car and a road race car.

97+ Preludes have 290cc injectors. It runs rich to begin with so unless you are doing some serious mods, you don't need to upgrade them. The problem with bigger injectors is you need to buy something to control them. Either a vafc or some sort of engine management sytem. What year is your Prelude (I am assuming 97+) and what do you plan on doing to the engine?

Well, first of all, I have a 99 type SH. I got FPR, VAFC, 255LPH fuel pump, and a jun chipped ecu. Now, im running lean cuz i can hear the lean pop when i shift. I plan on gettin the whole 9 yards on engine parts. But I'm gettin the fuel injectors this week, and i don't want to switch them to higher ones, after i bought these so i just want to make sure which one is the best for N/A.

Finally and good topic of discussion. I in the process of controlling my fuel and I need to know what to get. I think and FPR along with a VAFC would be great. I need to learn so post away please.

Well, about this lean pop, I think its because I hollowed my cat, and the ecu I changed. When I shift, I did shift at a high rpm(@8500-8600, it was recorded on the VAFC). So I guess the lean pop comes out of the exhaust cuz when I went to track last time, my friend behind me said he saw blue and black smoke when i up/down shift.

The lean pop is most likely a rich pop, lol. Unburnt fuel exploding on its way out the exhaust. The hollow cat causes this also.

Shifting at 8500-8600 will cause lots of pops, including your motor.

I mean, I don't rev it that high every time, but when i go to track it goes that high because of the downshift, and i need to stay on vtec cuz vtec kicks in at 5800(its the ecu/clutch is slippin also/haven't tune or lower the vtec engagement). I plan on getting all the parts for the head so i can safely rev that high.

**When I change my spark plugs last week, the mechanic says 2 of the plugs looks lean. And I did raise my Fuel pressure by 4 psi before that happened.

Back to the point guys. What size for FULL ROAD RACING?

So what kinda of NA mods can you get away with on stock injectors (cams, higher compression pistons?) I recently decided im probably going this way (damn atts cutting out w/ boost) so just wondering for reference....thanks
EDIT: btw, boosted what did you do to your car, if you dont mind me asking....?

I should prolly leave this to Sam or some other Motor guru. But Ill stab it yO!

Basically our cars run rich from the factory @WOT... so injectors are only neccessary if..

1.Boost, Nitrous, raised cr...(ie, preventing detonation..the extra fuel compensates for the extra air.)
2.If your car is currently running lean and you need more fuel to make extra power.

(bear in mind there is an optimal mix..like 14:1 air/fuel. I can't remember the exact ratio. So running too lean or too rich can cost power and reliability.)

So..cams you should be fine..You can still add more fuel w/the stock injectors w/the V-afc, to compensate for the extra air.

Comp Ratio on the other hand...I think you would be fine unless you go extreme like 12:1 or higher.

Boost...I have *heard* (I am no turbo guru.) 7psi you can be ok...anymore you need some type of tuning..(then you run into other problems like internals.)

Anyone else back me up on this?

I dont think you need bigger injectors sounds like what you need is just some tuning.

and the pop is from being rich..
you can hear it in every one of my racing vids.

Yeah, Id fiddle with what you got before you get bigger stuff....like it was said, without higher cr or boost you will be fine on stockers.
