Default Question from a newbie

I see alot of people doing exterior modifications for their cars, mostly like cosmetic work to make the car look prettier outside. They all look great, new rims, lowered, wings, headlights, body kits...etc.

But do people do performance modifications also? Like turbo-charge or whatever (sorry I am a newbie).

I am planning to get a RSX type-S soon, is it worth it to put 3k on exterior or spend that to increase the performance? I like cars to be simple but fast.

Thanks all.

If you want simple and fast. I would but your Type S and drop all your money into the engine and suspension. Put no or almost no money into exterior mods. So your own thing.

I would buy a '02 or '03 Si and drop in a Type-S engine, and then mod that up. But thats just my $0.02. But, if I had 3k to spend on a Type-S, I would definitely go all motor on it.

I plan on getting an RSX Type-S in a month or two and i plan on modin my in the following order: AEM v2 Cold air intake, Apex N1 Exhast system, Neuspeed Short throw shifter, 5Zigen MK-6 rims with Falken tires, and a Ground Control suspension setup. Its basically go but the parts also give ya show. Plus by the time all of this is on the car the be alot more parts for me to mod my car with .
I dont think anyone here will also disagree that is a bad way to start modin ur car.

yea a lot of people do show cosmetics stuff. what it really boils down to is what you like. for the most part h-t is go before show, just with the newer cars not a lot of aftermarket support is available so people make due with what they buy. personally i like go before show, well handling. its also good, i think, to have a combination of both. a nice street rod.

as for putting 3k into an interior i think thats just dumb, unless its a race car ie; rip everything out and put a cage and a bucket seat, well that wont take 3k, but all the ICE custom stuff, eh not my taste, could be spent elsewhere. if youre gunna put 3k into your car and want go,handling and engine, id say go with a nice coilover setup, Tein SS made for street cars or H&R cup kit i think is now out, def new tires, and an I/H/E setup.

i say focus on the suspension first .....coilovers ...sway bars .....lowerin g....wheels ...SS brake lines ....and tires .....

the powerplant of the DC5 is already stout ..the suspension is what needs work first ..IMO
