The car makes me think of it as being a JDM Civic wannabe.

I would rather take the 1.8L inline-four twin-cam from the Escort GT/Mazda Miata/Kia Spectra and mod, and turbo that.

 

Eek. Not for me, but it's not that bad.

I ran one stock-to-stock when I first got my EX (well... I had yanked the airbox)... beat it by half a car.

Of course, in the Escort's (Escort... heh) defense, the kid couldn't drive.

Here in Chicago, about 99.5% of ZX2 Escorts are drivin by homosexuals....easy to tell too, either by the gay pride sticker on the bumper, or a dude wearing make-up I've seen it a million times. They should advertise that car as the Sportscar for Queers

What's up with those cars anyway? A few years ago they were selling the "California edition" that included a Centerforce clutch and Borla (I think) exhaust, and a K&N, and some bright yellow paint. Did they sell it like that everywhere and just rename it? Or was it really a Cali only thing? I used to see them all the time, always revving on me, trying to race me.
