i have 91 civic with drag 3 manifold and t3t4 put on tial wastegate and it's hitting the hood. i know i can run some bends down to the side or notch out the hood. i was just wondering what others have done. any ideas?

 

I have seen most people either buy or make a 90 degree elbow so the wastegate sits parallel to the manifold. Drag sells these elbows as do other turbo parts suppliers.

 

I have a 90 degree elbow from Rev-Hard. But it had to be modified shorter and re welded to fit. I had it crack twice also because of vibration.

 

i finally just drilled a hole in the skeleton and now it fits fine... but thanks

 

Forget those methods, just cut a hole in your hood.

I also have 3 movies of it running, sadly the movies aren't long enough to see the trap times but I believe he was in 12's. After the races I went to go look for it to get some engine bay pics but he had already took off. I asked around and it was believed that he had a B series turbo.

This happened with my fiance's civic. A stock hood would not fit so he got a CF hood and it clears it will ease. Now there is actualy a gap between the hood and wastegate.

 

I notched out the hood and shaved a a bit off the top of the Tial.
