Default turbo/swap

ok i know that this question has been asked many timse but i need some other opinions than just mine. i have a LS right, i was planning on goin turbo, but the motor has 96k on it and by the time i get all the money i need for this it will have a lot more... i was going to build it up for the turbo but (again) with the turbo and all of the things i need to get for it is goin cost me my soul. so i was thinkin should i just do a swap and have it a little slower or what??? a major dilema for me...
i know that a swap is a lot too but i would really like reliability ya feel? and emissions here in cali are SOB so this is a prob for both options..
please help me out here guys and gals i have tried to help you as much as possible and now it is the time where i look to my family(HT) for help........thanx a bunch

i feel you on this deliema. i say find a low mileage ls and vtec it plus turbo. all in all with the motorbuild up its going to be about 6 or 7000. and you could sell your ls for as much as you will by another newer ls for. or just keep your old one and build it up and dont boost to much. if its about reliability and CARB then go the build up and low boost route. just my thoughts man. and keep us posted on what you do.

boosting at 5lbs=no fun. you'll want to turn up boost then bye bye pistons/rings. (possibly more) just get a ls bareblock, and send it in to get sleeved, then go w/ turbo. as long as you dont get sent to smog referee youll be ok. even if u do get sent there, you can take the turbo off. getting the block sleeved w/ forged internals will save you tons of headache in the future, trust me.
