Left foot brake
How much do you guys left foot brake during auto-x or when on a road course? I know it depends on the course, but I am just asking in general. (Noob at auto-x)
What percentage of the time???
Thanks

As a novice, dont even think about it...... too many other things to worry about. I dont bother with it although it can be used to settle the car in transitions or slow the car down without affecting weight transfer.
If you want to practice, try doing it on the street (check your mirrors) so you can get a feel for it.

In autox everywhere. But it helps having a car with good low and mid range torque where you can just leave it in 2nd gear on most courses. When I used to drive an ITR in GS, LFB only where I wouldn't downshift obviously, which really did not leave many places for LFBing actually. On the track it really depends on traffic, turns, conditions. Still I'm sure I do it a lot more than I realize it.

I LFB when I drive automatics. My dad gets pissed and says I'm not Juan Montoya.
I tried it a few times with manuals, but I stick with what I know as it only made me lose time. Besides, developing two sets of skills can screw you up.
Alain Prost, one of the greatest Grand Prix drivers of all time made a similar mistake. He usually drove a 5sp McLaren, but when he was testing out a McLaren with 4 gears (or was it 6?) he forgot for a moment which tranny he was using, and he blew the engine.
Damon Hill tried LFB with no real consistent benefit. Same thing with Rubens Barrichello.
It can be done, but develop your driving skills (other aspects) first.
