I'm trying to find out what my bottem end can take. Plan on puttin A1 pistons in it and a ported a6 head on. If the rods can hold up well I will not change them. I'm on a budget. NEED SOME ADVICE. Plan on doin all this in june. Just trying to do some research.

the rods and block should handle up to 230 or so horses fine.....go nuts on it......beat the **** out of that little thing....i'm doing the same thing this summer when i find all the parts in the junkyard

 

i was hoping to get away with 200hp on a D series..tubo afc hack

are the bottom end all the same..d15 d16 d16z6? if so ill just use the d15 since im gonna be boostin

 

they mount the same and everything, and you can interchange heads, but the bottom ends are different......different cranks and rods i think.....similar, but not identical.

 

I rev to 7.5-8K every once in a while.

 

what type of setup are u runnin
