got a quick question mounting a harness with my roll cage.
alright guys i got a autopower 4 point race roll bar. i wanna kno if how im suppose to mount my harness. behind my head in the drivers seat is a bar, it prevents my seat from flyin back through the cage. ( its circled in blue in the pic)
do i route my harness over the bar or under the bar?

That piece is the one that's usually made out of some flat steel. The cages and some rollbars usually have a whole tube (the same diameter as the main hoop) crossing parallel to that one, only a little lower. That's the one you should have to use wraparound shoulder harnesses. That one in the pic. is a little too high by most harness manufacturers recommendations. I don't think its that sturdy either. You might have to have a welder add a harness bar to this roll bar.

alright guys i dont have a harness bar on my cage. and that little bar is not for a harness*. i m mounting my harness to the rear seat bolt points. i need to kno how to route the harness over the bar or under it. the little flat bar is prevent your seat from flying back through the cage.
the rear selt belt points is not the best place to mount a belt.
Are you sure that bar wont damage the belts in an impact?

ya i was told to route my harness over the bar. cuz if it was underneath it, when i roll over the bar would hold the harness down and push my shoulders down crushing my spine.
so basically im lost dunno what to do.

You take the belts over the bar. Remember that the belts should be mounted at a 45% angle to the seat so if you are in a series accident you do not increase the chances of spinal compression. Also RJ is correct in telling you not to mount to rear seat belt locations, your belts will be to long and will strech in an accident. The correct thing to do is to get a piece of DOM steel and weld in a horizontal bar half way up the main hoop to the diaganol bar wrap your belts around that.
