is this recomended? I have a decent deal on a set of knuckles and calipers
it will be going onto a 91 civic hatch STD with a b18b motor, and ys1 lsd tranny
with these knuckles is the 91 integra the proper axle?

Yes, the Si knuckles are fine. Axles should be 90-93 Teg.

also DX hubs will work. Just not the HF/STD hubs. A wise investment would be 90-91 EX hubs/rotors/calipers ~ 10.3" brakes versus the 9.5" Dx/Si stuff.

 

will ex calipers/hubs/rotors mount to a si knuckles with no modification?

 

All those EX parts will replace the Si one's. Just do a search for big brakes in the forum.
