alingment kits after lowering
ok, i have a 91 Integra LS with some minor engine modificiations, and i want to lower it. I have been looking at either the Eibach prokit or their sportline kit. The Sportline kit (1.8F, 1.4R) is what i want, but it recomends an alingment kit to be baught with it, which nearly doubles the cost to a total of around $350. For the Prokit it doesnot recomend an alingment kit but only lowers it 1.4F, and 1.0Rbut would only cost me $225 How important are these alingment kits and is 1.8 and 1.4 drastic enough to need an alingment kit.
Are you talking about a chamber kit? If so they are recommended for sportlines, if you don't want to go through tires really fast you're gonna want them, although I don't got a chamber kit on my car

I think you mean camber kit, and tire wear depends more on toe-in rather than camber angle. Make sure your car is aligned correctly and you shouldn't have any problems with either spring. I'm lowered almost 2" w/o camber kit, no problems here.
i'd get some washers from a hardware store for rear camber adjustment. rule of thumb is 1/16" thick washer for every deg. neg. camber. For the fronts i'd get something like a skunk2 adjustable camber kit. Or if you're brave, COLD bend the front spindles....

i don't think you'll need a camber kit. get an alignment after you lower it to see how bad your camber is. if it's really bad, then go for a camber kit, but otherwise regular rotation of the tires should keep the tire wear from being too bad.
does your car pull either way being that low and no kit? cuz mine pulls slightly to the left and im lowered 2" up front and 1.75" in the rear..im considering a kit cuz i hate having to corr myself on a straight road ya know

To answer your question, my car drives straight as an arrow... I can drive on the interstate w/o my hands on the wheel for quite a distance before I have to change direction (not that I condone these activites for any length of time, always keep your hands on the wheel
).I don't know why a shop would turn somebody away for not having a camber kit, but what do I know, I get a buddy who works in a huge Chevy dealer service department to do my alignment for me, while I stand nearby and watch.

Take it to Sears. They should do it and charge you only $59.99. They will want to sell you parts but decline. Sears shops allow you to walk in the back garage too.
did that man...and it still pulls slightly to the left. they recommended me to get a camber kit to correct the problem. how much are they and can that be installed DIY

If your toe is set to exactly zero and the car pulls you might have a problem with one tire, or possibly even suspension or frame damage.
aight then..ill have it cked...i appreciate it. It's obvious you know a lot about suspension theories based on all your posts about alignments and such. again, appreciate your help. peace

I have that set up via the previous owner. I see that the insides of my tires are completly worn out and I will need new ones soon. I would do alignment first and if you still have tire wear issues (inside of all tires) then consider a camber kit.
my prob is the car was already lowered when I bought it from the previous owner. He mentioned to me that he got the car realigned but I know he bullshitted me on that because the right front tire was completely worn down on the insides as well. I really think I just need a kit cuz my car is pretty low and I had the alignment done but it still pulls slightly to the left...just slightly but irritating enough ya know. I dont know. I guess Ill just have to ck it out. You know of a good place to order a kit for decent price? tired of droppin $ into this thing ya know..thanks peace

Ok the results of the alignment check with sportline springs:
Camber was -1.7 and -1.8 so that was out of spec
Toe was also out of spec but that can be fixed without a camber kit.
I say take it to a shop and have them check to see if you are in spec or not then decide. As for me I need to get a camber kit.
