Getting new car.....Gsr/eclipse GS-T.......I can't decide
Turbo
. I would go for a GS-X over the GS-T, AWD w\ boost owns. Tough decision though, see which you can get a better deal for and go for it.

i'd get a gsr over a GS-T. think about a GSX instead of a GS-T, then it'd be a hard decision. i actually wanted a GSX over my GSR, but my dad didn't trust the reliability. with the GSX you've got a turbo stock (easily moddable) and AWD.
If you're looking for something w/dependibility then go w/the gsr, if you want something fast and are willing to pay for maintence then go w/the gst. my friend had a gst and had nothing w/problems...those trannys suck on those cars.
the perf bang for the buck is better for the GST, but the interior and fit and finish is better in the gsr. Also, if you consider a well driven gsr is about even with a turbo DSM through the 1/4, then stock for stock its an easy decision. GSR.
However, if you really just want power, and could care less that the interior of the eclipse looks like ****, or that the cabin is cramped, then you have your answer. For a $1000, you will have much more success with a DSm then a GSR.

Id personally rather have a GSR, however, the GST has ALOT going for it, and can be very fast for much less than a GSR. In terms of money, the GST is the answer...but the total package is the GSR IMO.
I would get a GSX.
Tranny in those suck, AWD take take continuoues 5k rpm laucnhes until it dies.
Engines get crankwalk. Not sure what years.
GSR is going to be more reliable. **** in there anything more reliable than a honda engine?

mitsubishi reliability is about as good as a british man's set of teeth.
Stick with Acura, or you'll get "stuck" by dsm. (g/f had 2g eclipse, maint. nightmare)

or do you want power that you have to maintain every weekend?
my buddy with a gs-t with 1G turbo, 16psi, and used to have nos...
car is a nightmare....he's always asking....what would cause this???
haha

If you want better straight line performance then GST or GSX (better)
If you want better handling, good acceleration but not as good as eclipse turbo, and better reliability then go GSR

the gst or gsx would be faster for less money than the gsr, but mitsu cars have alot fo recalls and **** on the tranny, etc....
id go for the GSR
id go for the GSR
by all means get the GSR
GST is GARBAGE (sorry dsmers) but that car is trash. Even if you want to go fast in a straight line have fun hooking up your tires.
If you have to get a shotty DSM get a AWDer and have fun in a straight line. Or you can try to turn it and understeer into a wall
I owned 2 DSMers, I hated both of them (gst and GSX)

I have owned a 95 gs-t and a 90 awd Talon. For a daily driver I liked the gs-t better. It was better on gas and on the interstate was faster(less weight and less loss of power in the drivetrain). As mentioned before the dsm motor and tranny have their downfalls. Dollar for dollar the DSM will be faster in straightline performance. The sound and feeling of the turbo is addictive. The stock turbo on the 95-99 will only produce max 250hp. It will spike at around 17 to 18 psi but falls off fast to 12-13 psi. No one on here has mentioned the fact that the brakes are really bad. I had an accident in my 95 gs-t that I could have avoided in a gsr. I have owned a LOT of cars and I do prefer the build quality of the Hondas best of all. I have 350,000 miles on my civic and drive it everyday. There is no way my Eclipse could have done that. I would have rebuilt it 4 times. So to make the long story short GSR.
350,000 miles.. that's a honda 4 ya.
I was lookin at A GS-T right before I got my GSR. It was a private owner car so I went to a Mitsubishi Dealer and talked to a friend of my Dad's who worked there. He said stay away from em, all that power w/o the AWD lead to alot of accidents and that corporate mitsubishi ended up losing money on it in the long run. Take a sharp turn and give it some gas and you will slide all over. GSR handles better and is way more reliable. GSR IMO.
GSR all the way
But do you honestly think you will get an unbiased opinion on a HONDA board? haha.
good luck deciding......

I know it's a honda board and figured that it would play out more for the GSR but I think thats the way i am going to go. I dont have a lot of money for mods (going to college next year so I want a car that will last and wont break down every week. Thanks for the info guys. GSr it is. Oh and how much body roll does the ITR rear swar bar take care of? ( with stock springs shocks.) and will ITR springs work with GSR shocks? If they do will they help?
i dont have mine installed yet, but i've heard the ITR rear swaybar does wonders for reducing body roll. also, the ITR springs will work with GSR shocks and they do help handling, but are sometimes hard to find. H&R OE springs are a good alternative. they lower the car to about the same height and have slightly higher spring rates.
