MSD 6BTM / J&S SafeGuard
i've been looking at thing ignition systems.
The MSD 6BTM has increases spark, but also allows you to retard the boost. But is the manual control, or can you setup it up to auto retard?
Now the J&S Safeguard auto retards timing/boost after it senes knock, but it doesn't increase spark anyone like MSD.
So should I get a MSD 6a to increase spark, and J&S to auto retard, or get a MSD6BTM?
Thanks

From what I have read it's a manual control. I would save my money, buy an OBD-I ECU (if you have an OBD-II 96+ car), buy an OBD-II to OBD-I conversion harness (if you have an OBD-II 96+ car), buy a Hondata s100 with boost capability chip and have it tuned.

I think thats what I'll do. Save and get AEM or Hondata.
I can use Hondata with MSD 6A right? I just want MSD to make more spark, more efficent burn.
I've always wondered why cars don't have two spark plugs while aircraft engine do. Its amazing how when you run a airplane with 1 spark plug you get a 100rpm drop.

does the new s200 have the knock control option? The j&s safeguard is good to have just in case something does happen after the motor is tuned, such as a blown headgasket and what not.
