Default Vacum Leak

Okay folks here is my problem. Back in Dec my car got smacked in a snow storm. My fuel rail for somereason came loose. the body shop tightened the bolts for the rail and the regulator. Broke one of the bolts in the rail for the regulator. I took the rail out lastnight and got the broke bolt out of the regulator. But my dipsh*t brother took all my injectors out of the rail and cleaned them. But I didn't put new o-rings on the top of the injectors. Now when I put in the injectors back on 2 where nice and hard to put in. And the other 2 where loose. If the injectors are not seated properly could that cause a real bad idle. Like a vacum leak and a lobby idle? I mean it will rev to 2k and drop down to 1k. ANd it just does this all the time. Tell what you guys think. Cause I made sure all my hose where back in place and this is the only thing I can think of!

thanks guys

If by the top of the injector you mean the inlet that goes into the fuel rail...I think that would cause a good amount of fuel to spray out, so it should be apparent if it's leaking. More likely, the BIG O-ring around the base of the injector is leaking, because this would make for a bad idle, leaking boost and you probably wouldn't have fuel spraying out. Don't forget to check all your lines and TB/Manifold gasket, if you haven't. You can spray some starting fluid (read:WD-40) on the gaskets and see if the idle changes. If it does, that means you have a leak. I guess that will also work for testing the injector seals. Good luck, vacuum systems suck

Check around the seal where the injector goes into the manifold. If your o-rings on top were bad you would most likely be leaking a good amount of fuel. Yes, a vacuum leak will f*** with your idle.

EDIT: Someone beat me to it.

So I guess those injectors seals shouldn't have come out of the intake manifold that easily?

Well the injectors at the base of the injectors looked pretty "f-ed" up too. When Jerk boy pulled the injectors out the seals came out with the injectors. I'll just have to order the seals for the base of the injectors too! I know someone posted that with a Napa Part number on the box. Ha I work at Napa Part-time I'll just minus the part out and take it home thanks guys. I have extra o-rings for the top of the injectors. I'll just try this when I get home from my job thanks guys!!
