Crankshaft issues
Ok to make the long story short I bought a 98 block and had it sleeved by GE. The block spun a bearing and the crank is scarred so I can't use it. I bought one from a guy that said he had one from a 99 Prelude. I went and measured it today at the shop and the main journal size from the 98 is 55mm. The one I bought to replace it (99 crank) measures 50mm. I read the thread by Satan_srv and it appears the main size changed from 98+ Preludes.
Does anyone have any more info on this? If you have access to different year cranks off Preludes (I know it's a long shot), could you measure the main journal and post up the sizes? Also can you check to see if there are any etchings on it (shown in pic below)?
98 Prelude crank with the etching shown.
99 Prelude crank that I bought (can't verify the year though). It has no etching on it.
Both cranks side by side. The left one is the 99 crank and the right one is the 98 crank. I sprayed a cleaner on it so the etching show up better but also makes the cranks look dirty. You can see the scarring on the right crank.
I need the crank to finish this off.

I don't have any more detail, but I can confirm what you are saying is true. Different year H22As had different size crank journals. I believe the first person to post about this was scwhett about 1 year ago. He was rebuilding his 2000 TypeSH block and ran into similar issues. You may want to try emailing him. He does not have a Prelude anymore and does not post here much.

The pistons will go on the f20b rods no problem, but yeah you would have to sell the rods which you may not want to do.
Anyways as I said it's obviously a 92-97 crank and not a 98+ You can prove it by the bearing part numbers...
