anyone road raced the kumho ecsta v700??
I road race a set. I am faster this year than last year. But that is not due to the tires. The tires are good, they did not chunk. The side walls are reinforced and hold up well under race conditions. I did slice a tire due to bad driving and very high starting tire temp. I am going to buy Toyos next. I am not unsatisfied, just want to try Toyos.
Last year I raced on Victoracers the entire season. The very last event I ran a set of Ecsta up front and Victoracers in the rear. The race was a 90 minute sprint and i never made a pit stop. The left front was completely gone after the race, which leads me to think that they do not have as long a life as the Victoracer.
The tire feels completely different too, mostly due to the tires square shape and more pronounced tread pattern. I think the synthetic compound attributes to the tires shorter life, but they get up to temp. relatively quick.
Anyway, Ive always been happy with the V700, but this year Ive switched to Hoosier R3S03's. So we'll see...
Good luck either way.

I ran full tread Ecsta V700's all last race season. I run 2.5-3deg negative camber on my car and got very even wear (this is on an ITA MR2). I'm switching to shaved RA-1's this season partially based on comments on boards like this. I'll probably get another set of Ecsta's for rain tires.
