Default American Racing centercap problem

Man, I need to get my f*ckin' wheel off and change the tire TOMMOROW! I gotta drive to work! and the centercaps have a special lock on them, it looks like the appropriate piece would be a star shaped bit but more rounded and it'd have to be hollow in the middle, you see what I mean? None of the AR dealers carry the piece, it has to be special ordered, but that'll take a few days, and I work every day! How the hell can I get these damn caps off without damaging the wheel??? Thanks in advance

i remember a situation like this...you wont like the outcome

i was sitting in NTB waiting for my new tires to get put on...and this dude comes in and starts arguing with the technician. I overhear the conversation, he has an older celica with american racing rims...and he lost that centercap key that you are talking about. the NTB dude said that if he wanted to get the wheel off, they'd have to break the centercap...and there was no way out of it. The dude tried to argue with NTB to have them order a new cap or replace it, but they said no...He eventually let them do it and left an unhappy customer...

so the answer is...if you wanna get the centercap off without the key, you have to break it
