Spoon dampers and fender clearance issues?
Just installed a set of Spoon dampers (adjustable), 16f/14r kg/mm springs. Man, the shock bodies are so short that even with the perches on the highest setting the rears are almost tucked and the front tires barely have 1.5" of clearance to the fenders. Does anybody know how these dampers are designed to be used? Looks like if I just run them the way they are with 205/55/14 Victoracers on 14x6 +40mm wheels, I'll certainly have clearance issues when cornering.
Has anybody else experienced this problem or should I not worry about it? First autox event is next Sunday and I don't want to just try it and risk chewing a groove into my tires, but if others have run the car this low without problems then I'll try it. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

This is 1.5" of physical distance between the fender and the tire and yeah, it is pretty much tucked. This 1.5" is not a visible gap, but measured almost horizontally between the tire and fender well. This is with 185/65/14 tires with +45mm offset wheels. I'll be running 205/55/14 tires with +40mm offset wheels for racing, so I'd imagine that the tire will be even closer.
Thanks for the reply.
