Removing the rear left seat......EP3
I am starting to build my car for the spring and while gutting the rear I came across a problem with the rear left seat. After removing the bracket that attaches to the right seat and removing the clip from the rear I'm still not able to remove it. I went by the shitty instructions on seat removal for the CD changer install so I may have missed something. Anyone else know how to remove the damn pin from the bracket??? Thanks.
Someone has to know this or at least have the helms... For some reason I'm not able to pull the left rear seat back from the bracket.
if i can remember right, u gotta push the seat towards the side of the car and then pull the inner most part towards you, but, dont quote me on that. if that dont workl, just try some different things like wiggling it or somethin.
I did this, too, and found that it was really hard to get that left seatback out.
You DO push it toward the drivers side. And its hard to do. I had to get squashed in there and leg-press it! Does that count as excessive force? BE CAREFUL!
By the way, here is a breakdown of the rear end weight that I carefully measured:
Jack: 4 lbs
Spare Tire: 26 lbs
Upper deck tray, cargo floor board, and cargo floor matt: 5 lbs (really!)
Rear butt cushion: 9 lbs
Right Rear 60% seat back: 26 lbs (the center shoulder harness hardware is inside there)
Left Rear 40% seat back: 14 lbs
TOTAL: 84 lbs. (give or take a couple)
+ at least another 10-15 lbs of seatbelt hardware and misc bolts
+ at least another 10-20 lbs of speakers and paneling and sound-damp-goo
