Default Yet another topic on LS/VTEC

OK I did a search and I didn't come across my question there. My questions is Would a c5 head be a better choice then the B16 for the ls/vtec, no matter what head I get it will get Port and Polished and but if I got a c5 head I wouldn't change the cams but if I got a B16 head I would. If I got a B16 head what kind of cams would you recommend? My plans are to use eagle rods and either a forged piston or just CTR pistons, new valve train and fully rebalanced bottom end. any other suggestions?

if you are going to P&P and swap cams, get the b16.

and for your application i think skunk2 stage 1 will be a good choice.

the c5 head is basically the b16 head with a p&p...so just go the cheaper route and get the b16....spend the money on somethin else...

i say get the GSR head...it doesn't flow as well as the B16 head but you get more power and torque from the GSR. as far as cams go, it depends on what you wanna use the car for. are you gonna drag it? road racing? daily driven? plan out what you wanna use your car for and then go from there...it's a waste of $$$ and time to buy drag racing cams when you use your ride for auto cross or road racing...

My plan is to daily drive and possible street/track races. I have heard bas things about useing the GSR head, well I guess not bad things but I was directed in the ways of a B16 head.

The B18c5 head is far supperior (valves, cams, valve springs). If you can get one, buy it. You can still P&P it and put cams in it or stay stock.
