Default jdm h22a tranny?

Well I dropped my tranny today to put my new clutch in and I noticed on the back left area of the tranny from a top view there is a little box. What is it? It has a 3 wire plug hooked up to it and it looks to be two hose fittings sticking out of it. It is located right under the cable bracket for the linkage. I have the plug all wired up and working but I have nothing on the lil hose barbs??? I don't remmber seeing that when I did the swap. Should I have something hooked up up to the hose fitting on it? Also I have been driving it for about a year now without any problems and no codes. Any ideas would be appreciated...

It sounds like the VSS: vehicle speed sensor. If your speedo is working, then it's wired right. The hoses go to the PS so you have less assist at higher speed. If you don't have PS or think it works fine the way it is, then leave it disconnected. Might want to plug off the pipes to keep dirt out though...
