Fan not working.. help
There's no air coming out through the vents. I can turn my a/c on and hear the compressor working but there is no air coming out at all. Same thing when I have the heater on, nothing. I can turn it to 1, 2, 3, or 4 and nothing happens. I checked the connections behind the control panel and everything is good. i also checked the fuses, all good. What could be wrong? How could I fix it? Thanks in advance.
Your blower motor has died. How does he know you ask. I have just replaced my son's in his '89 CRX SI and mine on my '88 DX HB. It's a pain to do but will fix your problem. BTW check to see taht you get 12 volts at speed #4 across the motor terminals. The blower motor is located at the passengers feet under the glove box.
Go to Auto Zone or Advance they will sell you a new motor for $29.95 lifetime warranty. Real pain to get out and even more fun going back in. If your AC does not work it is a snap because the easiest way to get the fan out is to take out the evaporator first. This requires a gas discharge of the AC system $$$$$$. But if yours is already dead then what do you lose, a pound or two of evaporator core. Pull the Fan plenium next as a unit. Then the fan is held in by three 8 mm screws. I disassembed the old motor to get the plug to go on the end of the bare wires supplied with the motor.
well, i wanted the fan to work so i could use the heater as well. I plan to take out the a/c unit.
is this the blower motor? http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...=HEATER+BLOWER illustration number 001

Look on the bottom of the white box. The blower motor is held in by three 8 mm screws. It is a real bear to get it out without removing the black box (AC Evaporator) but it can be done.
