I did a search but couldn't find much info. How do I know when my wires are shot? I think I read somewhere that you should have under 30k ohm of resistance from the distributor cap to the other end of the wire, is this true? The car has 100,000 miles on it and the wires are stock (I believe).

 

Just change them, and dont worry about it.

Just make sure you buy OEM ones, not the cheap autozone's. They will not fit right, and they are garbage.

 

anyone have experience with say hotwires or wires of that sort for our cars.

i thought about trying the Direct Hits, but put it off. I did get a set of NGK's though and my engine's random "wanting to stall after stopping every now and then" has pretty much vanished.

 

I orderd a set of NGK's

 

I've heard NGK's are great, but i've never used anything better than the oem Bosch's
