99 Accord H23a Vtec
I was thinking about doing this engine swap, but i was looking for somewhat of a direct bolt-in procedure. I found a 99 h23 vtec from a 99 accord on sale from Osaka Motors..about 2 grand..anyone know if it will bolt in directly with only a few modifications? For those of you who think i may be irresponsible, i searched first. Thank you.

no it is 87mm bore. 95mm crank like the h23.
It drops right in...it's and H23/H22. It has an auto tranny...so I'd make sure they give you a ood 5 speed tranny and an H22 ecu or something..

could i just use my h23 tranny that i've got in the car now?
also- i'll have to check to see if they're giving me a p13 or 14.. but are you saying that a p14 wont work?

You CAN use your H23 tranny, but it's geared a little longer....which can throw you out of the powerband when you upshift. It's only a slight difference, but when it comes to racing, every bit helps.
And if you use a P14 ECU, you won't have VTEC. Use a P13.

haha i almost feel retarded for thinking a p14 will work. Doesn't have a vtec program in there..
I kind of favor my longer gearing right now as opposed to the gears of an h22. but i'm sure i could get over it, especially when my et's go down.
