will this work? 98 gsr cd player in a 93 del sol. just want to know if it'll match up. tia

 

If memory severs me right the plug in harnesses( oem ) may be very different
look into a metra 701720 and 711721 ( i thinK)

is the cd player mentioned a complete radio with the cd player built in or just the "slave" single cd player (basicly a 1 disc changer).? i am pretty sure that acura didnt update the integra wiring harness untill 2000, so it should just plug in. if the harness is different on the acura cd than your del sol harness you can get 2 harnesses at best buy (for example) to make it work. goodluck

 

yea, its the stock 98 cd player/radio. it is in my 95 acura right now...but it's now going to get migrated to my future 93 sol. i was thinking since they're both obd1, the harnesses would match but i wasnt sure if honda left the same plugs between acura and honda.

sadly no. Honda changed the wiring harnesses in '98 so the acura CD player has a different plug than your Del Sol. What you need to get is a 70-1720 to plug into your Del Sol and a 71-1721 to plug into the Acura cd player. Then just wire the two together and plug 'em in. Just head to your local stereo shop with those model #'s and they'll hook you up. If they're in a good mood you may be able to get them to wire 'em up for you for a few bucks too.

 

but the radio is currently in a 95 integra, which does use the 1720.. plus the honda's didn't change over to 1721 until 99-2000 IIRC. Unless the 98 was close enough to the cross-over point.

 

Just goes to show that I should actually stick my head in to a car once in a while! Haven't had to in a few years.

 

cool, thanks for the info. yea, it matched my 95 acura harness. plugged right in. i hope it'll plug into the del sol as well. if not..really not a huge deal. but thanks for info guys
