Difference in Prelude and Accord exhausts?
Just was wondering the difference in the Prelude and Accord exhausts. Also would a Prelude axle back or even a cat-back fit on a 97 Accord. Has anyone tried this before.
axle back it mught work. check the piping diameter on your car and the prelude thats its for....the other problem is the mounting piece, liek the little hanger part that goes up, it goes to a different place, but it might work, the axle back on my car is from my friends prelude and it went on fine.....
1992-2001 and Gen5 Accord have simaliar piping and muffler chamber designs. 1994-1997 Accord and Gen4 ludes would likely have the most in common. The Gen 6 and newer Accord diviate even further from the Ludes. It was with this iteration of Accord that Honda started to abandon the Lude/Accord world platform more in favor of the USDM only Accord/TL/CL platform. It unlikely any Gen 6 part would interchange with any Lude as the wheel base was longer and the Accords rear suspension changed to be even more radical then that of the lude which was still heavily based on the Gen5 Accord-Gen4 Lude chassis.
Main reason though is because I Want a Apex'I N-1 for my car and they do not make one. So I was just wondering if I bought the Prelude N-1 if it would work!
hehe, ya know? that just might be crazy enough to work!!
although, the best shot would be to buy the exhaust from a 4th gen lude! since the 5th gen accords and those are most compatible than any others!...
i even thought the tower bars were pretty close!!

anyt decent muffler shop should be able to weld it up for you, and if you need to add another small piece of piping, thats not the end of the world....or you could just do this....

I really do not wanna chop up my brand new Greddy Evo cat-back. Thats why I was wondering if the prelude exhuast would work. I would sell the Evo and buy a Prelude N-1.
