question for people who are alarm experts re: bmw alarms
This is a question to anyone who knows anything about alarms. I love the sound some bmw's make when arming or disarming. (kinda like a whistle) and would love to put that sound in my prelude (yes i know its not a bmw) but I love the sound. what will it take to get this? I've asked bmw and they say the entire alarm system, including sensors, which i know is BS cuz they want 2000$ for it all, telling me i have to have thedoor entry and keys and ****. I asked a stereo shop, and they said just he siren horn, but I dont think that noise is "stored" in the siren. I think it might be a combination of the brain and the siren, but not sure. can anyone clarify this for me, or know where i can get the parts (pick and pull maybe?) Thanks guys and girls.

i am pretty sure bmw uses or at least used alpine alarms in their cars. the alpine sirens have a lowpitch whistle when arming and disarming. you can probably order a alpine siren for about $20-40 from alpine. if you can still get them the older siren from the 8063 or 8081 is the nicer one.

Yes pechie is correct...it is an /////Alpine alarm ( imagine that)
just order the siren and youll get the wooop**woooop sound as well.

cool so all i'd need would be the siren right? this sounds too good to be true I hought the sound came from the brain, and the siren was just like the speaker end of it. im sure you guys know what i mean when I say whistle, comes on some 540s and 7 series, its the alarm from the james bond movie in his 740IL *whistle* thanks guys
no it's an alpine. That's one car I do recommend alpine alarms for because you can get a really cheap harness and it plugs right into the BMW
