changing fluid in clutch master cylinder HELP!!
Ok, this is a n00b question I know but whats the best way to replace the dirty brake fluid from the clutch master cylinder. The way Ive always done it is to just use a turkey baster and get what i could out of the master cylinder. I don't know if this is effective enough or should i bleed the hydraulics? BTW, i have a 96 vtec 5speed. TIA
Hey man, I think your best bet is to use the bleeder screw on the clutch slave cylinder. Have a friend over....one pumps the braks while the other keeps the clutch reservoir filled. Continue bleeding until clean brake fluid pumps out.
Don't take the fliud out of the reservoir because this will cause air to go into the system. Not good.
Just have your friend keep the clutch reservoir topped off as you are pumping the brakes and this will bleed the system properly.
Hope this helps.
