Default ZC dizzy problems

I put the ZC in my HF and it doesn't start. OK lets see, I am not getting spark. No problem, plugs are ok, wires are ok distributor... not ok. No biggie I have another ZC distributor I got a while ago I'll just put that one on. Still no spark, WTF!

I take the cap off today and test the igniter. Now in the helms it says there are 4 wires: blk/yel, wht/blu, wht, and blu. In my zc dizzy the colors are blk/yel, yel/grn, yel, and grn I assume that yellow in the zc is the white in the si and green is blue. all the wires checked out ok except the last one, the grn(blu?) wire. All the grounds are ok so it says to check the blu wire that goes to the tach. That wire is on the 2p plug so I unplugged it and connected + to the battery and - to the plug and it draws 5v. So power can go to the tach it is just not making it through the distributor so am I correct in assuming that the wiring in the dizzy is shot and I should get a new one?Or am I missing something?

And one last thing. It says to check the no.32 fuse (50 A) under the dash but there is no no.32 fuse and I thought all the 50A fuses were under the hood???

Any ideas? thanks

-Joe

Only thing I could tell you on this is to just check all the fuses under the dash and under the hood.

when you repinned the wires for the distributor, you didnt mix up the 2 white wires did you?

Shown is the Round SI/HF plug and the Teg/ZC square plug, when you repinned them to fit correctly, their are 2 white wires, if they are crossed you will get No spark, very common for no starts.

Actually one of the white wires is slightly larger than the other, but it can be tough to tell.

I put in a new distributor this weekend and there still is no spark. I am currently poking around under the dash for a broken wire. Any ideas were to look now

Check your alternator fuse under the dash.
