Yeah, and remember that those engines have 3 times the displacement and a few extra cylinders to work with, so the gains will be much larger with the same mods.

Of course try revving one to 7k and see what happens

i don't believe that... a stock cobra will feel faster than a turbo b18c civic.

Yea american cars are beasts...

I like my civic though - affordable, fun to drive, it can turn!, easy to work on....the list goes forever!

I always wanted a 96 Mystic cobra after seeing one of my friends older brothers supercharged one..Mustangs are pretty big around here..Got about like 6 hooked up that all live on my street....

I think instead of a Cobra when i get older, Im gunna get an ITR or RSX

71 south bound, Ohio, 12:00 midnight. I was driving to Columbus when all the sudden I here the distinct sound of a V8 roll up behind me. It's a Rustang Slowbra errrr I mean mustang cobra. He pulls to my side points forward and guns it. he gets a five or so car lead. This pissed me off so I down shift into 3rd blast past the ****** doing 95 or so mph then 100 then 120. I look in my rearview mirror the ******* headlights are bouncing from his pathetic attempt to downhsift and catch up. I slow down and pull back beside him, he hangs his head in shame. I mouth to him "do you want to go again ******". That moral of the story is that just because you drive an overpriced American V8 driven muscle car does'nt mean you cant be schooled by an underated 4 cylinder driven Japanese engineered car.

Its weird how the old V-8's felt like they were making huge power vrrooom and the sound of the secondarys kicking in was breath taking. Head snapping power of torque yummy.

Todays cars can generally eat those alive but they are so smooth that it is sometimes difficult to get that head snapping performance and no big vrroom.

Plus side is the kicking gas mileage out of our beloved hondas.

Yes you could gains more hp from bolt on, but It's a mustang no thank. I don't care If It's make 60 hp with just intake. I'll stick with honda. It's cheaper, look better, handle better, better gas miles, you could make It faster with motors swap, egine last longer, easier to work with. Sometime the true hurt. This It's just a few example of what you could do. now you wonder why some american car have Japany motors in them. all I could say is honda It's one of the best. To me It's the best. and American car It's not one of them in my opinion that why people in Europe, Japan don't but American cars.

What isn't to believe? I really didn't like the car. He had quite a bit of work done to it, but later sold it and bought an S4. Now that is a beautiful car. I nearly wept after driving it.

what i was pissed about, was because the parts were so damn cheap.

under $300 for cat back dual exhaust system,
$90 for CAI.
$195 for throttle body.

i was like wtf! and they got significant hp from basic bolt ons.
meanwhile a CAI for my car is 250, and catback exhaust it 500, and only add like 8hp.

then i asked my mustang friend, and said the GT parts are cheap, its a crappy motor for the stang.
his Cobra parts are double the price of GT parts...

it evened out.

ok, so they gained 27 HP from that stuff on what? at least a 4.6 ( I think was the smallest GT v8).

Ok, so we gain 8HP on a 1.6l engine. If we had 4.6l of displacement we would gain about 23hp so, its about the same. Not to mention our cars are built for fuel economy and emissions. Id say the Rustang isnt

i think the sad think is that it only comes with 177 HP from stock in a V8 5.0+ !?
think if/when honda makes a v8 it will be 2 times that power in a car that CAN turn and more eco and in a much lighter car !!..

i like the v8 sound and all.. but US cars are no wounder or anything.. the can drive and drive fast in a stright line... thats it..
and im in the process of makin a trans am pontiac for a friend (only made 900 of that model he has.. really speciel) but seeing how the car is put 2 getter.. LOL..
looks like if a hadicap and a mongol with a hammer diid it...
