I have a base rsx that is really coming along. Its got an apexi N1 rear section with custom 2 1/2 inch piping, AEM cold air, reded out tail lights, nuespeed race drop, Falcon AZENAS tires, Jdm TYPE R wing.........i would really like to get rid of those nasty black skirts but would rather just have them painted, can it be done?

 

It can be done, but I think you may be better off buying some from a person with a type s that got a body kit or something.

 

i did it to my civic a long time ago when i had it. local body shop charged $90 for both

sounds like a cool car, why did you get the base RSX, the type S is a big setup up. If i was you i would just save up enough money by being a male prostitue(gigalo) and trade in your car and get a type s. your sauce. lets see some pictures.

Base has a chrome exhaust outlet wheras the Type S gets a billet-style, and as for brakes, the base has 10.3 inch brakes where the Type S gets 11.8 .

oh wow Mario Lesbash looks like ur over defensive there FAGBOY.. first of all i dont give a rat *** if the Type-S has an inch diffrence bigger brakes and a fuckingg larger diameter chrome tip than the base, because in my opinion it doesnt make that much of a huge diffrence, stock for stock.. so pls. dont be such a fuking MORON , because u dont even OWN a Type-S.. plus the 40hp diffrence is nothing to bragg about ok. the chasis suspension set up on both are the same they handles the same. it would be a big step up if they had 17"inch wheels, sticky tires, BREMBOS, recaros and a stiffer chassis set up..BUT NO they both have a SOFT suspension set up compared to the DC2R, so pls dont come up on me like that thinking ur one BAD *** **** cuss u drive an RSX ..ok dik? u only OWN a base AUTOMATIC RSX , which is far more slower than the RSX BASE 5-speed ..so do urself a favor LEARN how to DRIVE okay FAGBOY?..

I did and upgraded to a much faster hatch. I never said my BEATER was fast, its a nice car to float- dont get butthurt because you dont know **** about what your talking about, and everyone in this forum has owned you.

yes larger brakes ...even of an inch difference will make a vast difference ....

the Type S will have a larger swept pad area ..of braking ....

larger pad area = stronger braking

chassis stiffness is the same in base ~vs~ Rsx-S ....but suspension setup is not ....even though the Type-S is not as firm as a DC2R ....its still firmer than the base ...

lets remember what the RSX-S replaces ....the GS-R ...not the Type-R ...

its tunned for moderate performance handling....and mundane relaxed comfort ...just like the Gs-R ...

i'm not sure what world you live on ...but a 40 hp difference is a very large gap ....look at the Hp differences compared to the JDM DC5-R ~vs~ USDM DC5-S

theres only a 17 hp gap ...but the performance numbers are very far apart ....

15.1 1/4 mile ~vs~ 14.2 1/4 mile ....

and on a road course ..the gap would be unbelievable ....
