Default Anybody elses car leaning to the left?

I have a 94 EX that leans to the left. I know the engine is on that side and all, but geez it looks funny. I don't think it's the springs because I just replaced the suspension. Since I lowered it, the difference is less noticeable, but there is a small difference in wheel gap on the rear. The front is the same on both sides. The car was hit in the rear when the previous owner had it but I don't think there is any frame damage. I know other people have had this problem, so any suggestions of what may be causing this are appreciated. Thanks.

That's why I was posting, I was hoping someone else had solved the "problem". I'm still mad at the car so I won't be messing with it for a while.

Bump before I go to sleep. I know someone has dealt with this before.

What do you mean leaning? is the whole car at a tilt? or does it just pull to the left when you are driving...?

It's usually because most people don't have a passenger in their car everytime they drive, so the drivers side is always a little lower. But if your car has been hit before in the rear, and the frame or suspension is a bit off, that could be the culprit

my friend always tells me my car leans too, but then again, my car has been hit in the rear, and the frame needed to be pulled.

I sort of have a similar problem, my drivers side seems to lean down slightly, and people always think my F-L Tire is low, but really isn't.

Well now that I check, the front right is a tiny bit higher than the left also, but isn't nearly as noticeable as the rear. So I have no idea what it's problem is.

I have this problem too. I believe that it is just the suspension settling. I am going to get some skunk2 coilovers, that should solve the problem.

what about shocks? is it possible for them to deplete or something? how they loose pressure or whatever keeps them fresh? doing a suspension overhaul is costly.

Honda's are heavier on the driver side than the passenger side, Pre 2000 cars. Most hondas do lean on that side more because of various reasons. The motor has more weight on the driver side, the driver sits on that side, and many of the lines are run on that side as well. If you were in Japan with a RHD car, it would probably be pretty even..

Uhhh... considering ALL civic transmissions are on the passenger side and the majority of the weight of the engine is on the passenger side not the driver's side.

I think your wrong. (not that that means you are)

As far as it being from a hit... ya that's VERY likely.. get a alignment and ask the guy to keep his eye open for bent suspension parts.

For the guys with adjustable suspensions who have the same problem... well they're ADJUSTABLE for a reason... adjust them till it's all even... if it goes back DO IT AGAIN.. there is nothing dumber than someone who spends the extra loot on ADJUSTABLE springs then sets them and forgets them... you could have just bought non-adjustables and had thousands of dollars of R&D dollars invested in how they look when installed.

How is the transmission heavier than the motor? The motor itself sits closer to the driver side frame rails than the passenger side because of the tranny. SO, the weight would be more on the driver side.

Hahaha i remember my 92accord had the same problem. It MOSTLY happnes if you dont usually have any passengers. Not much you could do about it other than gettin coilz and adjusting everytime u see a difference, or try to park on a hill or something so you passenger side gets a little lower like that. LOL

My 96 Civic 4dr does it too, (leans down on the driver's side mostly front) and I just got all new struts and put them on with my coilovers set all the way up and measured and it was 3/4" lower on the front drivers side...that made me mad but then I thought exactly what was said earlier, "I bought adjustable suspension for a reason" I know that didn't help that much, but I'm just sayin that its not shocks or struts in my case.

P.S. up until i saw this post I thought nothing of it because the lady I bought the car from was 400+ lbs. My drivers seat butt pad was worn down after only 40,000miles...but now maybe its not because of her.
