Default Buying a civic with front end damage, LOTS of PICTURES - help please...

I found a civic for a nice low price. It's been in an accident before tho. Clean title though. Doesn't seem that bad. It's drivable and has a good alignment (at least my preliminary test drive had it driving and braking straight). I didn't get to look at it much. It has a b16a in it already.

I'm gonna take a 2nd look today. I'm gonna do a compression test and check the spark plugs. Anything else I should do engine wise?

As for the body, here are the pix... Help me judge the damage...

\

Hopefully he lets me bring it to a body shop for an estimate on repairs. Basically I think it's a pretty good deal AND I plan on getting a full body kit and a full paint job almost right away anyway so as long as the damage isn't too bad I don't mind.

I need your help though. Just by looking at these pictures can anyone tell how much it might cost to straighten? Basically just the lights and the hood don't line up properly. Looks like damage to the radiator support (maybe a new one was welded on or something but not the rest of the frame (surrounding engine bay area)...

He wants $4100, but looking to sale fast.... I think I can get him down to $3700-$3800.... if not then forget it.... but if I can get it that low..... plus sell the rota circuits for like 500-600... that's like a 92 hatch wtih b16a for 3200... I'd say that's pretty good...

I dont think that damage is that bad, looks to be just some minor bending and realining to be. My 93 coupe is the same way.

Damage doesn't look that bad, try to get him down to 3,500 at least. Minor cosmetic damage here and there, new hood, you should be good. Give it another test and look over before you make up your mind. Also make sure it has a clean title and not salvage. Good luck

check and see how the front membran (spl check) is and if it looks bend up or real out off shape then don't get the Hatch cause it wont be worth it for the money cause thats a big deal.

....the part arround the radiator...

3,500-3,600 for hatch with a b16 already!

Damn...I paid 3,400 for my eg hatch(93) and although for the most part it is in excellent shape, its stock....you could sell the engine and rims and only have paid around 2,000 for the car itself! Good deal

wow, i dunno about u guys, but around here it's hard to find a hatch that cheap.

the motor swap alone was worth 2gs... so i was only paying like 1200 for the rest...

would have been like 3200 after i sold the rims easy....

its hard to asssume that all that is cosmetic damage..... if the frame is fucked at all it would be pricey.......but i would look for something with out damage anyway, i think its better off he sold it
