fiberglass bumper w/ paint need to remove questions
sup all, i have a question. I recieved a fiberglass bumper for my civic from a friend, and it is not the same color of my car. What i need to know is, what would be the proper way to remove the oil paint?
If I use a solvent, what would be a good one to use?
Or if I used sandpaper for it, what grit should i start with, and work my way up to for a smooth finish?
Thanks guys for all your help!

you dont need to completely remove the old paint unless it is peeling or in bad shape. all you should need to do is to scuff the old paint and paint over it. maybee a little bondo or extra sanding if there are any imperfections in the old paint. goodluck.
well the reason i wanted to remove all the old paint was, there are some spider cracks, and there is 1 4 inch crack, and i wanted to see what i am working with and use bondo on it to fix it.
