few hours would be good...just don;t break any sensors and have coolant and oil and tranny fluid handy. Swapping in the same engine is a sinch.

first time..4-8 hours

if youve done it before...you can throw the motor in and have it running in 2-4 hours easily

ive never actually done it before, but ive seen it done. one of the guys works on performance cars for a living, and the other did a swap like 3 weeks ago. i can do all the fliuds and stuff myself, i just mean the real labor, that it would be helpful to have extra people on.

it is a good idea to have 1 extra person to help out..anymore will just be getting in the way..its pretty common sense and if youve seen it done you can probally do it its just a good idea to take your time and make sure everything is correct and working rather then trying to hurry and messing somthing up..and remember to have a friend with some car knowledge to help out with manuvering the motor into place and helping put mounts in place

Speed swapping (in this case, swapping out a single cam) record I know of is 1hour 12minutes - 4 people... Would have been around 52mins, but had a faulty main relay...
Full B18C swap into JDM EG4 (D16), done at New Zealand '4 & Rotary Nationals 2002'.

We ran it at the drag event the next day. So far its run a best of 13.7 on street rubber.

We always try to add something different to our crew display each year. Most car shows lack interaction, and are just plain boring with bling bling wheels and excessive body kits etc. think that swap will be hard for us to better this year, unless we can track down some h22a gear for a good price.

4 hours seems to be the norm for taking a motor out and putting another one in...

But I have a record, im not sure if anyone can beat this. 14 minutes 18 seconds to drop a single cam out! Done by a mechanic at braman honda in Miami, Fl with like 5 witnesses and a stop watch...lol

anyone ever hear of faster?

I'd say a good 4-6 hours for an average. pulling plugs, and draining fluids is the most time consuming part.
