I know there is a difference between the 89 CRX Si seats and the 90 DX civic hatch seats. The seat rails are set wider apart in the hatch. If you want to put CRX Si seats in the hatch use the outer rails. They will bolt directly up. As for the inner rails, you will need to modify them. I used metal plates to get mine to bolt in.
well on the seats the rails are wider than the civic hatch mounting holes. so i have to find rails that are thinner and shorter. are the rails interchange-able? or do i need to get new seats..?
If your putting CRX Si seats in you will have to bolt the outer rails to the outside of the seat, you must use the hatch rails for this, (there is two holes for bolts on the side under the plastic cap). The inner rail will be your problem. The Hatch seat pans are wider. You will have to faberacate your rail for to work.
none of the bolts line up...? if i line up the inner bolt to the way they are suppose to be..? the outer bolt are about 6 inches away..? and the rail are around 3 inches longer than they are suppose to be..
You need to know what year CRX Si the seats came from as the rails and bottom seat pan change. The 88 rails are specific to that car and the 89-91 rails are the same. The steel pan on the bottom of the 88 is different from the later ones as well. If the seat cloth has red threads in them, they are 90-91 and no red thread means 88-89.
I have no experience on the Civic, just been through the various hoops on the CRX.

I've run into the same problem trying to fit 89 CRX Si seats into a 88 DX hatch. After swapping rails and such, the bolt holes just wouldn't line up. So, I'm just going to have my friend who has welding skills fab me some new brackets.
if u have ur old seats still u r in luck....u will need to take the metal pan out of both seats and swap them so u can bolt the seat properly....its not hard just time consuming....u gonna need to unbolt the 2 14mill bolts on the one side and the allen key from the other side of the seat.....the bottom portion of the seat will now be free from the top now u need to remove the cushion and cover there are little metal clips that hold it on ull figure it out when u see it....then reverse the process and ull have seats that bolt in with ease
oh thanx .. yeah the seats do have red stiching.. i guess i have to go to the nearest junk yard and grab the pan and rails and swap them. is there a difference between 4dr and 2dr....?
