Default ECHC Questions

A while back there was a post stating that all ECHC cars will need to run a OPM Motorsports Windshield banner in order to compete. When are these going to be available? Do we purchase them directly from OPM?

H2 Tire Question:

I also recall a "Gentlemans Agreement" that the H2 cars would be rolling on Toyo tires. Is this still the case? Just curious, as I'm going to ne purchasing some new tires in the next few weeks.

I will be on Kumhos unless you pansies show up on Hoosiers.
This is the Cheapest tire, and $$ is tight.

Is Toyo or another vendor going to offer special pricing on the rubber or is everyone on their own for sourcing them? Kumhos through Tirerack are not that bad, esp since I save a little bit through the wholesale channels. Maybe some organization, through say one vendor that sells Toyos, might benefit everyone if that is the "agreed" upon tire. Anyone?

We've been through this time and time again... I had no problem watching everybody show up and compete against me on Hoosiers last year, when I could only afford Kumhos, and As long as you can't get a 45 series Toyo, I will stick with the Kumhos... technically they are very close in comparison... if not Toyo being faster. Until next year... run what you brung is the only rule.

Adam,
From what I rember from the announcment was that Karl would have a bunch at every race to put on people's cars and that you would not have to buy them. Much like the Tire Rack Banners with SCCA. There going to be free and everyone has to run one to run with ECHC.

Yup. OPM baner required to run. Other sponsor's decals required for points. Contingency sponsor's decals required for contingency.

I have toyos on the car now.. They will be on the car all year.. I know Warren will be running them as well all year.. I am the one that came up w/ this "gentlemans" agreement, but also understand, that we race to win, and if you show up on hoosiers, I will no way be upset about it.. Actually, I will smile because I know I will be spending less money than you

H2 class has really dwindled down, we have lost Alex, and most likely Starnes, which is a huge dissappointment... Never the less, I will be at every race, giving Adam, Franza, Williams, **** hell..

What is OPM giving me for running their name on my 3 cars? I don't see anything in the way of money in a contingency program. Every sponsers that is on our car is because of just that, they sponser our car. I see what everyone else is doing and it is elective if we want the contingency. I have to run NASA decals because its a NASA sactioned event. I just don't see what OPM has to do with it and why it is mandatory. Looking through all the info posted on Honda-Challenge it does not say mandatory. I already have signage on the car for sponsers and our race team. This is not a pro series. I know a lot of you have already responed saying we have to run it, but I need someone to explain to me why, how, what for.

Thanks

Do a search on it. You are coming in way late too the party to dispute it or even complain about it. OPM is giving money to the ECHC. Karl has already explained it. It cost money to buy the trophies, run the website etc. Where is that coming from? It took a lot of hard work for Karl & Scott to secure this sponsorship. Scott who? you say. It was this type of complaining that almost cost the series the sponsor & ,from what I understand, was one of the reasons that Scott, one of the founders of the ECHC, to left.

Further questions about this should be taken up with Karl via the email address available on Honda-Challenge.com
