Default Finding wheels SUCK! Help Please.

I am at the end of my rope.

Need- ITR 15X7 43-45 offset 5x114.3. Sounds simple right???????
175.00 - 300.00 per, wide price range right????

I had 8 Kosei K1's on order from the Tire Rack, then an e-mail back ....... sorry discontinued 45mm. We have 38's...... sorry NO!

Volk TE-37's. Got a great price from RandD Motorsports ( thanks ) but they are on a slow boat from the far east. Somewhere in the Pacific.

Rotas- 15x6.5 with 40 offset? Maybe? Will need spacers.
Who knows when the 15x7 will be here and 40 offset will rub with 225/45's.

BBS RK's- not made in this application.
Panasports- Not made.
Revolutions- Not made.
Many other name brand companies- Not made.

SSR Comps. $$$$ and out of stock at Tire Rack and they are 15x7.5

Spoon- Maybe don't know much about em.

There are over 300 applications for the Type R on-line but 99% are Bling-Bling 17", 18" and yes my favorite the much needed 19x8??? Who the 'F' uses 19x8?

Help, this sucks and I have 3 weeks to a test date.

Does anyone have some 4-sale. Even making a small profit for themselves.

IM -me if so!

John- who wonders if those 19"ers may help my lap times?

RJ- Lots-o-search's done!

Can you use the standard factory Type R wheels? I think Flux had a set for sale, not sure if they are still available.

PS - I wonder why the K1 is being discontinued? Nice strong lightweight wheel, and they seem to sell pretty well. Hmmm.

Stern Aguzze S07 - 15x7 +43 - $400 shipped for 4 - http://www.machiii.net
Enkei ES Tarmac - 15x7 +40 - $235 each - http://www.g-speed.com/enkei

I've seen the Team Dynamics Pro-Race wheel in a 15" 5-lug wheel overseas, but I don't know if anyone can get them in this country. You might want to contact http://www.edgeracing.com and see if they can get them.

Anybody know if 225 45s will fit under the car without rubbing on Millenia rims? Could be used as a last resort.

I hear it's being replaced with a new design with split spokes... koseijp.co.jp has a picture of it on their products page but no details.

They've already axed a bunch of fitments, though. They used to be one of the only inexpensive 4x114mm bolt pattern wheels that came in low offsets for older Japanese RWD cars. Now you can't get 'em.

Thanks Guys.

Yeah Brett, already have a set of CW ITR wheels for rains.

Jeff- thanks for that Mack iii link. Those Sterns look interesting!!! Made in Japan and weight same a K1's. I left a message with them already. I'll keep you posted. I can believe I missed those! Anyone know something about Stern wheels?

4-wheels for 400.00 bucks and free shipping it maybe worth a try. 4 wheels for the cost of 1.7 Volks.

H-T rules.

You want +45, but a spacer with +40? I'm confused. +38 will probably fit fine as well, just stick out a little more.

What is wrong with the K-1's in the 15x7, 38mm offset? They should give you the clearance to run the 225-45-15's.

I just bought a set of the Sterns a little while ago. I have not had the tires mounted yet, but the quality/finish of the wheels is great. Better that Kosei. I was going to paint them, but now I'm not sure they are just to pretty right now. For the price I think its hard to beat.

If you want some pics let me know and I can email them to you.

John, whats wrong with running +38mm offset on K1s? Its the same as running the 45mm K1s with a 6mm spacer except you don't need longer studs...

I got 38mm K1s and so far I had no rubbing issues whatsoever, even without rolled fenders...

6ghatch, Not sure. It is one expensive test if it doesn't.

From what I have read in the ITR forum, IRCA forum and here- the 38's will be too much with 9.5 inches of rubber at each corner. The 38's may work with a 205/50 that is 8.5 inches wide.

Do you know anyone who is using that combo? 225/45 with 38 offset.

Thanks again guys.

John,

Yea, but the GSR's have different offset requirements than the ITR's do -- or in this case, a hatch with the 5-lug swap. The 5-lug hub sits further out, requiring a higher offset than the 4-lug.

Anyone know something about Stern wheels?
As I understand, Stern has now been out of business for a few years. But Stern used to be one of the premier Japanese wheel manufacturers for many many years. They were right up there with Rays Engineering, Advan, and Hart Wheels in terms of both quality and price.

With regard to some of the questions about the quality of Sterns... Do not let machiii's low price fool you into thinking that these are some cheapo wheels. The 15"er version of the S-07 used to list at over $250 EACH in Japan. Mach III bought out some of their closeout stock about 2 years ago. What they have left is all that is remains of Stern wheels. The S-07/S-07r wheel was a design that was in Stern's 1999 model year offerings. These are wheels are part of Stern's "Aguzze" wheel line that were designed for racing purposes. Assuming that you want to use these for racing, you may want to invest in an extra set because what Mach III has now is all that's left of them...

I have a set of the gold/polished S-07r wheels for my Prelude that I got from Machiii about 1 1/2 years ago. They are 17x7.5 (Bling! ), forged, and weigh just 13.8lbs each. The ones I have used to list for around $550 EACH in Japan. The finish on my wheels is absolutely beautiful and still flawless after 20,000mi of street driving. The 16" and 15" are cast as I understand, but I would expect the finish and quality to be no different.

Andrew

John, you don't have half the problem I have.. K1's are the ONLY option for 4x114.3 in 45 or 38 offset.. They discontinued K1's, so I'm screwed..

You'll need spacers when using 225's on Millenia rims. W/O the spacers you'll rub on the LCA and inner fender at full lock.
