Ok well Im the type of person who usually gives the underdog a break. So I ordered my engine from osaka. The condition of the engine seems pretty good. I dont notice anything missing that I hadnt planned on replacing anyways (belts, etc), and they actually sent me a C's shortshifter already attached to the shift linkage. But heres my concern. The VIN# plate thats usually on the tranny casing is gone. If I ever get pulled ofer I dont want to get any crap from the cops about having a stolen engine or anything. Is there anything I can or should do?

You need your osaka reciept. That's it.
JDM engines do not have a U.S. Department of Transportation Vehicle Identification Number on them becuase it's a US thing.
No worries.

Indeed, the JDM motors don't have those little VIN plates. In fact, I don't think Honda started using those VIN plates until around 1998 anyways....so no need to worry.

Because if the previous owner of the swap had a short shifter it could have been abused. I personally would rather have a factory shifter delieverd with my swap unless I specified otherwise. Good luck with the swap!
Those C's shifters aren't cheap. yeah, the motor might have been abused, but then again...that could be shift linkage from a different car and they just gave him that and a motor and shipped it out. Also, thats one less thing he has to buy for himself in the future
I don't know if this was mentioned or not, but which motor did you buy and how was your experience with Osaka? I have heard some good things and some bad things about them, so I would like to know how things went for you.

congrats on the C's shifter, but i would definitely do a compression check on all cylinders on that motor before you start it up...try rotating the crank too...you can't tell if it's hydrolocked or anything...check the harness and check the tranny fluid too...they might have used milk as tranny fluid...
Motor looks pretty good except for being a little dirty and a scratched valve cover...Is that a broken bolt on the spark plug wire cover too?
I would defintily check out the internals...
Tranny looks pretty clean....Cant wait to get my one of those B18C1 motors
How was your experience?
How much was everything including shipping?
Good Luck on the swap
