premium 93 octane since i'm turbo'd and just want the best for the engine-try to prevent detonation... i try and get 94 octane sometimes from sunoco if it's on the way and since it is "available..." if i can spend a couple grand on turbocharging, i and spend a few more bucks at the pump for higher octane gas...
edit:
if i'm not mistaken, 87 octane is OK for 5th gen. 4 cyl accords... other cars, like preludes for example, need to use premium gas i think...

i think i am getting terrible gas milage. could this be due to the grade gas i use? and the gas station i buy from? i am a college kid, so i buy from the cheapest ones around, usually speedway or raceway, and occasionally Hess
If you dont hear any detonation (pinging noise), then the grade of gas your using is fine. There are many factors that contribute to low gas mileage, mainly if you keep your foot out of it. 15.9 US gallons will get me about 380-400 miles cruising...but if i run it in pretty quick it gets about 220ish... BIG DIFFERENCE
94 5 speed accord.....87 Octane.
You will get no benefit from running higher.

I use to run 87 all the time on both of my car..
I switch to 91(highest you can get in SoCal) and experience a gain of
mileage. I was like WTF, I cant believe it myself, ran it couple of time and the mileage actually improve. I'll actually paying less for filling int 89-91 than 87, i did my math.

89 Octane with 10% Ethanol, I'm from the Corn Belt, gotta support the local economy. My '91 likes it and I have run it in my '62 Impala for 10 years and it runs just fine, in fact the inside of my 600 Holley is as clean as the day I put it together 10 years ago.
87.. doesnt make any sense to use any higher unless you are spraying or boosting.
i know i havent seen any additional gains by using 93 on my F22..... maybe its different for the F23.

In dallas area 87 is about 1.55 89 is 1.65 89 is about 1.75 not to bad compared to the national average.
Even though all I've ever run in my Accord is 93 octane, all that is required is 87. That is until I finish this engine; I think that the high CR (11:1) may require it. At least here in Georgia you can still get premium for $1.70.
I have an accord 2002 vtec f23a4 4 cylinder

I use premium alot out of habit from the old lude... not ness. really yet though.
I paid 1.69 for premium the other day.

I am running 89 in my 90 accord. Just to give you all an idea on the gas prices in my area, it is $2.35 9/10ths for chevron supreme. I am glad I sold the '71 firebird, the 10mpg on a 10 gallon tank was horrible. (but the power was worth it)
so cal gas prices suck. $1.95-$2.10 for the cheapest around here, up to 2.20 for 91.
I use 87, occasionally dump a tank of 89 or 91 in there just for good measure. I get 400 miles or so to a tank when i drive it all the way down (15gallon fillup or so), mpg is 26-28, depending on my driving habits and how many highway miles I have. I notice no diff between using higher grades on my car, no diff in mileage... and i have kept mileage almost every fillup for the past two years. I started off using premium only, switched to mid grade and now im on cheapest. No diff whatsoever for me.

i'm putting in 87 right now and in ny i pay usually 1.60-1.80 for regular. i work out in jersey and until recently they were still fairly low at around 1.30 for regular, but now they are up to about 1.60-1.70
i was also told that unless your car specifically states to use premium gas, your causing damage to your ecu by putting me premium. can someone verify this for me or tell me otherwise? thanks
QUESTION ............... how many gallons are in the 94 dx tanks? 13 or 15?
