Default should i be worried about this?

i just got my first set of r-compound tires, kumho ecsta v700's. since they are my first set (and since im not made of money) i didnt get them shaved figuring they would last longer. anyway this is what they look like after one autox:

should i be worried about it? is that normal? should i have them shaved? i understand the tire was designed to be shaved but i didnt think 4 autox runs would trash it like that. any advice?

tia...

if they are starting to chunk in the center use less pressure in the tire.

You should not be concerned about it now, just keep an eye on it. Once you've run the tire on the street anywhere you cant get them shaved anymore.

They do that. My suggestion is to try and grab more negative camber if you possibly can, don't burn tires off corners, and keep an eye on the wear. I'd rotate them front to back religiously though, and flip them before that groove gets too deep, for if that's the outside center treadblock, you are now seeing the Evil Groove of Death of BFG and Ecsta V700 fame.

damn thanks for the fast response....

im running as much camber as i can to stay DS legal, its somewhere around -1.5. when i took pyrometer readings at that event the outside and middle were close to the same, the inside was about 10 degrees colder. from what i understand that means more camber and less pressure, so it shounds like your right on. thanks for the help...

according to xrcr6, apparently thats just how they wear which is kinda weird. his set, and his friends set and i think geratol even did the same thing. they thought it might have to do with the compound change, but doesnt seem to lead to it. nor is it even about being overinflated. so basically, no, dont be worried.
