Hb Vs. crx?
depends on the year
heaviest CRX a lil over 2200lbs
lightest hatch 1950 or so, the lightest CRX HF 88 can be striped down to about 1750lbs. depends on the year and make of model if you want light get a first gen civ or CRX.

wouldnt a STD hb with b16a weigh almost the same as a Si with a b16a since the things that really make the hb lighter are smaller hubs,4speed instead of 5 speed..and no rear wiper..Im sure a STD would still be like 60lbs..
2338 lbs=1990 civic si with b16a+full interior+two 8" subs with box
sometimes i wish it was 200 lbs lighter...

It's hard to compare weights since there are alot of variables. For instance, the lightest 1988-1991 CRX is lighter than the lightest 1988-1991 Civic HB (1988 HF at 1819 pounds vs 1988 STD HB at 1989 pounds). But things can get very complicated for alot of reasons. For instance, the 1991 CRX SI is lighter than the 1991 SI HB. BUT the 1989 SI HB is lighter than the 1989 CRX SI. The reason? 1989 Civics did not have door mounted seatbelts but 1989 CRXs (except HFs) DID. And, of course, newer CRX SIs weigh more than any of the older HBs. A good rule of thumb is that CRXs are lighter than HBs of the same year AND trim. Except for non-HF 1989 CRXs.
im pretty sure the 89 hb weighs more than 89 crx..the belts dont make it weigh any more..its the door reinforcement bars that all 89-91's got..seat belts dont weigh 100lbs..

try the hatch, the crx hatch is a bitch to lift with no shocks its gotta be way heavier than the civic hatch
