Do you see any type of rubber ring in the pulley? That's a sure sign of it being a harmonic balancer. I know for a fact that on the D16a6 that the oil pump is the balancer and not the pulley. I've been running a Unorthodox Racing pulley on my D16a6 for 2 years and no problems. My buddy runs one on his 85 SI (stock motor) and his runs great too.

About the only negative with this pulley is that the clutch is more sensative. With a 14oz. crank pulley and my 9lb. flywheel, the clutch is engages very quickly. I guess thats to be expected when you take 13lbs. of rotating mass off the engine.

honda's are internally balanced; they don't use a harminc type pulley. i've had mine for almost a year w/o problem; throttle response is way better.

the ZC uses a stamped out Pulley very similar to a DX or HF CRX... so I wouldn't see a problem with the UR pulley

the A6 has the big rubber piece in it..

what about the z6? is the crank pulley the harmonic balancer or is it internal also? i have a z6 motor but it didnt come with the pulley so i was wondering which to use? also is it true that your crank pulley and alternator most be for the same motor or else the belts wont work?

The rubber in the crank pulley is because the alternator , PS, And Ac belts put strain on that end of the crank. The rubber helps releive some of the pressure. The pulley itself, at least on a B series engine is balanced.

I believe the Z6 pulley is the balancer

I sold my UR style (ebay special) pulley to a guy with a ZC and he said it didn't fit because the keyway was different.
I ended up selling it because I saw pictures from people of destroyed main bearings from running them. But then again, I have a d16A6 which has a harmonic balancer.
