Strange Idle issues? Suggestions?
Setup is Mini Me and im having troubling with the idle ...car runs extremely rough and the idle flutuates in spurts of 700-1200
Is there any purpose in running those vucumn check valves that attach to the back of the manifold and runs to another check valve on the firewall that is attached harness? What is that sensor anyways?

How's the heater working, and hte engine temp guage? If the heater and teh engine temp aren't getting warm at all, I'd say to change the thermostat.
The reason I suggest this is because if the thermostat is stuck open, it will jsut keep flowing the cold fluid through the motor and never let it warm up. Hence no heat and no warming of the oil. The car will read itself as "cold start" all the time and try dumping more fuel in at idle.
My 92 Accord was doing the exact same thing. If the car was in park, it would rev itself from 1500-2000 rpm, and jsut bounce like that. I thought of vaccum leaks and distributor troubles etc, but I started with some simple things first, and it turned out to be a bad thermostat for me.
If the car idles rough, no warm heater, and the engine temp don't come up very quickly. I would start with the thermostat.
Just my experience. Good luck with it.

thermostat / water pump timing belt was all just changed
and all the hoses get nice and hott
heater works too
The car idles better when cold than when it gets up to temp
anyone know about those check vavles?
