88-91 Civic/CRX ZDyne Gold ECU Group Buy
The folks at Zdyne (http://www.zdyne.com) have offered to do a group buy on their Gold ECU for the 88-91 Civic/CRX.
For those of you who aren't familiar with it, this is a very very trick unit. Everything is software adjustable with a laptop--revlimits, fuel, timing, spark, top speed, vtec control, clutch cut, NOS, etc. You can use this on your stock motor, modified stock motor, B16a, etc. You won't need a different ecu for the swap as you can use your factory piece. Check out the specs here:
http://www.zdyne.com/ordersecugold.shtml
Now, retail price for one unit is $950 and you supply the ECU (PM6, PM8, PM7, PR4 and PR3 I believe).
With this group buy, 2 ecus = $800/piece. Right away a $150 savings! 3 have been sold, and the more sold, the more money off. So right now the price is $800/ecu. If 2 more are sold, that price will one again drop.
If this is something that you are interested in, IM me, post here or send an email to: typer@starband.net I have several references on this board if you are worried about doing a group buy through me.
Contact me I will send you the details of how this needs to happen. I know even $800 seems expensive, but this unit is the ultimate way to tune your car.

wow...800 is a lot...but how much would the price go down if we bought another two? another 100-150 bucks? if the price got down around 700 i'd be interested.

I encourage you guys to call Bill @ zdyne and ask him what the unit does. It is very impressive to say the least.
Are the PR3 guys welcome on this GB?

dammnnn....only if i had more money than god, i'll be back if it happens to drop to under 300.
If it did get down to $300 I think everyone would buy it and we could make it to 50 or even 100 people easily.
I'll throw a "what if" out to zdyne, but I don't see it ever being that cheap.
I think I'm going with it, but do you actually have to pay more for the VTEC Control, you're already buying their most expensive unit.
5 units = $750. 3 are already confirmed (I am one of them).
And yes, NOS control and vtec control are extra, just like it would be if you bought one by yourself and paid $950.
I believe the next price cut after 5 is at 8, and if we reach that we are susposed to call Bill and see how he'll hook us up, because he has never sold that many at one time.

I use it in my 98 ITR and I love it!! This is the easiest standalone to tune on the Earth. I tune it in my driveway with my home computer and a 25 ft phone cord.
Cant say enough about the Zdyne.
P.S. no you cant run Zdyne with OBD2 you have to convert to OBD0 which is a piece of cake if you know the right people (wink wink).

PR3 ECU's can't be used. Just FYI.
I am not fer certain, so I urge anyone with a PR3 to call zdyne and find out.
