I think it's more like -- say somthing out of turn and without any knowledge (generally just make **** up) and they will correct your ignorance.
Trending Topics
riiigghhht correcting the ignorance ... more like shooting flames for the most part. (and yes i admit i did some of the same). That being said there is some ignorance about the s2000 that needs to be corrected as well.
While i posted in the wrong thread I still don't think I got many satisfactory answers for my questions. I mean come on people 20 peak hp from some bolt ons and then adding heavy wheels (depending on how much heavier could completely negate 20hp) on a fwd automobile (type r or not) and then cutting a 1/4 mile time by .5 sec.
Anyways.. most of you know .. steve has already had a thorough discussion on the s2k board with some of the pacNW owners about disputed lap times.
We all live in our own perfect worlds anyways.. so no use arguing.
While you would not believe me I AM a fan of the s2000/nsx/ AND the type r. I would love to have a meet down here in Knoxville at the dragon (route 129) with all three represented (as long as we all don't kill each other LOL)
knocking off some brake dust after a few hot laps.
haven't seen any type r's up here yet.

wonder if this will ever come over

This is no doubt prompted by my post yesterday.
I like to play devil's advocate alot, so alot of times, my posts come out sounding a bit harsh.
If you knew the back story about S2000's and I, you'd probably understand where some of my animosity towards Honda comes from.
<---Used to worship Honda, see sig.
As for the NSX, it's a great car for $50k, not for $80k.

Meow thats what I thought.
Rob -Who likes supertroopers far too much-
"Meow could you tell me what that has to do with this thread?

It has as much to do with it as you or anyone else calling the s2000 members ignorant, or needing some kind of schooling. So yeah if you're gonna call me out on this your calling out all your 'buddies' as well.
Nothing wrong with playing the other side, do it myself on occasion.
So what is your back story with the s2000 i'm curious?
Also what is the deal with the 5 post per 24 hr, how do you become a member of the site vs a trial user? I don't plan on just being a passerby.

Silver Spoon: You know what its like to have your daily posts limited, if I were you I would try to avoid ending up that way again.

Dealer: Hey Casey, guess what?
Me: What?
Dealer: We have your S2000 in.
Me: Really? When can I come take it for a test drive?
Dealer: As soon as your financing comes through.
Me: Why?
Dealer: To avoid joy riders.
Me: I'm not financing a car before I've even driven it.
Dealer: That's our policy.
Me: Do you think I would've waited a year on a waiting list and deposited money just for a joy ride?
Dealer: Probably not.
Me: So I can drive the car?
Dealer: No sir, it's our policy.
Me: Let me talk to the Sales Manager please.
Dealer: I AM the sales manager.
Me: Okay, I'll play your stupid little game, what is the purchase price of the car so I can get a promisory note for you?
Dealer: With dealer prep and storage fees and mark-up, it'll be $43,650.45.
Me: I seriously hope you are kidding.
Dealer: No sir. The S2000 is a hot item right now.
Me: Key phrase: right now. So let me get this straight, you want me to get financing on a car that I haven't driven and don't agree on price for.
Dealer: Yes sir, we have sold three already.
Me: Did they show up on a short bus?
Dealer: I'm not sure I understand.
Me: I figured as much.
Dealer: Well, if you want I can take you off the list, I am sure someone else will be in the market.
Me: Fine, then you can send me back my deposit.
Dealer: I'm afraid all deposits are non-refundable.
Me: There was nothing I signed nor was any retention of said deposit expressed at the time I paid the deposit. So you can do one of two things: 1. Return my deposit immiediately and I'll send you a quarter to buy a clue. -or- 2. You can speak with my attorney. Your choice.
Dealer: Sir, if it will make you happy I will send your check back to you.
Me: It would make me happy if the dealer I've bought three Honda's from didn't try to gouge prices for a car that is BARELY worth the price fully loaded. Infact, as much business as I have sent your way, you should be giving me a discount.
Dealer: I'm sorry you feel that way, you can have your attorney contact us if you feel that way. We'll discuss your deposit after that.
Two months later I received repayment of my deposit and all related court costs. I've never sent anyone back to that dealer. I also haven't looked at any more Honda's.
YOur experience def sucked, and I would have done the same as you. So hate on that dealership...not on everyone who owns the car.
Funny thing was, like two months later, I heard Honda Motor Co. had ORDERED them to stop marking the cars up.
Evidently someone sent in a mean email to the President of Sales and Marketing.
I cant believe they charged a 10k markup, and people actually bought the car. I mean I like the car, and I'll defend it against haters...but THAT is ridiculous.

i went to few honda dealers to look at s2k and most of them had $5000 mark up from the dealer. final price was about 38-40k...i'm sorry but s2k is not worth that much. i might consider buying for 33 or below but come on...5k mark up. kiss my ***.
