can 6 3/4 fit in a 6 1/2 space with very minor mods?

can 6 3/4 fit in a 6 1/2 space with very minor mods?
I was thinking of replacing my stock speakers with some new ones. The ones I heard and like are 6 3/4. my question is will they fit with very minor mods? will it be hard to make it fit? if it does fit am i looking at any problems? TIA

What kind of car? You might have to make a mounting baffle to get the speakers to fit your doors. Not a big deal though.
