anyone ever seen an S1 w/ factory LSD?
I have a cable trans that I'm trying to identify. According to the tooth counts it has a 4.40 FD, but it has a 90-91 splined inputshaft. It is stamped LSD but the LSD has been robbed from it. Doing simple math to determine ratio of input shaft vs output shaft, its geared like an S1 or YS1 rather than a Y1. Any suggestions on this one?

at one point, i saw a web page that stated that there were two types of Y1 trannys. the first type or gen, was the one with the 4.26 fd with the lsd. the second type, had a 4.40 fd and gearing like a S1! try getting a Y1 lsd diff, and test fit it!

Never heared of it, perhaps the LSD stamp was to raise the price? :D

New find, after counting teeth, apparently, I have a trans that has been modified. I have an S1 FD, S1 2st, but 2nd-5th are Y1. Odd.
look through the holes where the axles go through(differential), if you can see through no obstuctions its got an lsd
