CRX • 88 to 89-91 suspension
A lot of strut/coilover applications leave out the 88 CRX and only include 89-91 CRXs. I've been looking specifically at the Koni Yellow SP3 & Tein SS. I've seen both advertised as applications for only for the 89-91 CRXs. What is different on the 88s and what can I do to to make my 88 use these applications?

Thanks...

Thanks...
the 88 suspension used a box type LCA where the rest used a regular or US style rear LCA.You can either A.get the Tein susp that is made for the CRX(I believe the HAs were made to use the box style LCAs)or B.change your rear LCAs to 89-91 style LCAs to use the Tein SS or Koni yellows. it is that simple. The box style is good and the Type-R also uses the box style LCA.
The 88's used passive rear suspension so basically Type R suspension on the rear. You can take the trailing arms off of an 89-91 to use those shocks on the 88 but if your going to do that you might as well get ones from a 90 or 91 CRX Si that way you can use the shocks you want and also you will then have rear disc brakes.
okay cool. thanks for the help guys. so the rear is the only change huh? what about the front? will i be fine getting an 89-91 application and slaping them up front on my 88 Si (no modifications necessary)?
