What is the cheapest way to stop burning rich!!!
Arright, I have a 1994 honda civic ex coupe. My engine mods are RS*R 4-2-1 one piece header, custom (
) 2.25" catback exhaust, and a 2.5" CP cold air intake. Autozone sparkplug wires, and bosh duel spark plugs. Everything else is stock. The problem is, I am burning rich and I thought that when I put the header on, I would at least be burning lean, but I'm still burning rich. I reset the ECU and everything, but still very rich. I get hella black stuff all over the back of my car, and the exhaust smells like gas. I tried to fill up and count my mileage and I think I get about 220-240 mile to a fullup. PLEASE HELP. I'm tired of cleaning the back of the car, buying gas, and smelling gas while I'm driving.

There is probably something else wrong with your setup. But you could lower fuel psi with an FPR. B&Ms fpr sells for like 30-40bucks, Heres the groupbuy special Titan is offering. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=395640

I guess I can do that. Is it ok to lower the FP without knowing the fuel to air ration? If so, when I buy a fuel pressure regulator, what should me fuel pressure be set at? I'll be setting it at idle, (of course
).

i had the same problem, every other 4 seconds (when not driving) it would backfire. went out and got a vafc, that took care of the problem
my 97 ex coupe with I/E can get around 300 if i drive like an old man, but usually around 275-285
When i had a check engine light, and my car was running really rich, it was getting about 250 per fillup.

first try something as simple as cleaning your injectors. Run some injector cleaner through it if oyu haven't recently.
