Default Just in time for the ITR EXPO!

As I have been planning my trip to the expo this year my worst fear has come into play. I have planned to make this a 2 week vacation and hit Michigan, Indiana and Missouri and Texas where I have friends and relatives stay both on the way to PA and on the way back. I estimate 7000 miles for this expo trip. I figure I will average at least 25 mpg. So this means I will use a minumum of 280 gallons of gas! With gas prices soaring 50 cents in the last month alone my expenditure for fuel consumption has jumped a whooping 140 bucks!!! WHAT THE %^%& is up with that? We as a NATION do not need to rely on foreign oil sourses when we have the capability of supplying our OWN NATION for the next 200 years!!!! Why I ask do gas prices jump 50 cents in a month? THIS IS REDICULOUS!!!! BOMB THEM....MAKE IT A GLASS ICESKATING RINK OVER THERE. So now I have to save an additional 200 bucks just to make sure i have enough money for gas......

chad who once thought that 400 dollars for gas would cover his trip is baffled how that has and probably will double by the time the expo comes around in 5 weeks!!!

bomb them and bomb them good....

I paid $1.969 for premium in Alexandria yesterday.
Only needed about 7.5 gal in the 85 CRX Si, though!

Paid $1.85 for premium yesterday! Gas got a few cents cheaper around here for some reason in the past couple days.

Now you know why they drive so many small cars and small engine cars in Europe. If I remember right when I was in Italy last year about this time the gas was about $2-3 USD per LITER and that was for the Low octane stuff.

Bahhaa... 'Only' 16 MPG. I also own a Jeep Grand Cherokee V8. It gets 6-8mpg. Needless to say the only time the thing even moves is when there's a foot of snow on the ground

Hey my V8 4Runner isn't too bad then haha.

As for gas prices, I'm sure that the extra money that we pay for gas DOES NOT go to the oil producing countries in the Middle East. It's those ******* IN THE US who try to make a few extra billions during this politically unstable time. War creates heros and rich bastards.

I drive on a few days a week. The manual would be fun on the track IMO. Interesting at least.

Am I the only weirdo who's wondered how it'd do?
I've driven one before. It's very smooth but freaking sloooowwww. Took me a whole 15 sec to climb up to speed before merging into the highway.

Also, love that climate control.

And Ed, they were saying on the news that fuel prices may soar as high a $3 a gallon for regular before all is said and done.

With a little luck, the fuel price increases will make it hard for people to afford filling their SUV beasts......and people will stop buying em!

Cheese~ who hates those road hogs...

It does suck.. Nothing we can do.. It's the POS in gov and the Middle East.. 93 octane ranges anywhere from 1.67 to 1.83 here in North NJ. I go to a Sunoco that has Ultra 94 for $1.79/gallon..

I drove an Insight from LA to Vegas. Luggage, Wifey and I did 95mph almost the entire way. Still got about 55mpg w/ the ac blasting! Felt very gay, but saved money and didn`t put miles on our truck

Damn, really?? Recently I saw a guy doing 75-80mph easily in an Insight.. I was impressed.. They are ugly as sin, but they do the job..
